An Inside Job

Pathfinder Advanced Intrusion Detection

The Problem

An expansive gated and fenced RV park in the southwestern United States experienced a spate of vandalism to stored RVs inside the park. The existing security camera systems were deemed ineffective as the bright desert sun would cause a glare in the video and frequent down-time for camera repair and replacement.

The Solution

Park security assumed the vandals were migrating north from the Mexican border and entering the park by crossing the security fence, so Pathfinder was installed outside the fence perimeter and in vegetation that provided a concealed avenue of approach to the fence. Pathfinder was also integrated with an automated lighting system that would turn on at the nearest light pole to the Pathfinder alert location. This was to let the intruders know they were detected and needed to move on without breaking in. The warning lights also alerted the roaming guards inside the RV park where the detections were located.

The Result

Pathfinder never detected movement when vandalism was reported and as it turns out, there was a reason. With Pathfinder quiet, internal security realized the vandals were already spending the night in their RV inside the park. This information allowed security to focus their investigation on the members of the park who were present when vandalism was reported. This put a stop to the rash of vandalism inside the RV park. Meanwhile, Pathfinder sensors remain on duty should intruders attempt to break into the park.

THE PATHFINDER ADVANTAGE

Automated Targeting

Pathfinder can integrate with ground and air-based camera systems put eyes on target as anautomated “slew to cue” or “fly to cue” capability.

Undetectable

With only the antenna exposed, Pathfinder is undetectable to the human eye and its short burst radio signal is hidden in the noise.

User-Friendly

Simplified wireless architecture allows for easy installation.
