Special Operations Warrior Foundation Support from ARA and Employees

This September, ARA employees rose to the call with an end-of-year drive to support the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF) with employee/director donations totaling $13,528.67. At fiscal year-end ARA presented an additional matching $10,000 to the organization for a combined contribution of $23,528.67.

Special Operations Warrior Foundation President and CEO, V. Admiral (USN, Ret.) Joe Maguire expressed his deep appreciation to ARA for our contributions:

“THANK YOU AND ALL OF APPLIED RESEARCH ASSOCIATES FOR YOUR CONTINUED MORAL AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT. WE HAVE HAD 30 SPECIAL OPERATORS DIE IN THE LINE OF DUTY SO FAR THIS YEAR AND ANOTHER 58 WERE SEVERELY WOUNDED IN COMBAT. OUR FOUNDATION HAS 53 NEW GOLD STAR CHILDREN SINCE THE BEGINNING OF 2017. THANKS TO YOUR GENEROSITY, OUR FOUNDATION WILL BE THERE FOR THESE BRAVE AMERICANS.”

Since the writing of this letter, you may have heard that we lost 3 more. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their loved ones.

ARA has been supporting SOWF as a corporate charity since 2012. Why SOWF? SOWF provides funds for the families of wounded and fallen special operations warriors. Even in peacetime they can be called on to conduct special missions around the world. Often they are deployed with little notice, unable to tell their families where they are going or when they will be back. They do this to keep us secure and safe and preserve our freedoms. Often, their stories go untold.

Donations to SOWF ensure immediate assistance for wounded operators, counseling and educational support to families, and a college education to children of Special Operators who pay the ultimate sacrifice. SOWF recently received its 11th consecutive Charity Navigator Four Star Rating which places them in the top 1% of all charities rated by Charity Navigator.

Thank you to all who continue to support this important mission.
