Over the past decade, ARA has pioneered high performance virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies and solutions. ARA develops innovative AR and VR tools for improved mission planning and rehearsal and better situational awareness, including integrating our cutting edge technology into current and future Army vision systems and Army vision device displays.
Successful execution of ground combat operations depends on gaining and maintaining situational awareness of terrain, friendly troops, control measures, weapon systems, and enemy forces. Existing tools require Soldiers to access data on smartphones and tablets in a heads-down posture, which distracts from close-combat tasks, potentially jeopardizing safety. ARA’s augmented reality technology for dynamic on-the-move environments, tackles this challenge. It enables the user to acquire time-critical geo-spatial information with their head up and eyes out on the environment, viewing geo-registered icons overlaid on the Soldier’s real-world view.
Our technology allows teams to perform tasks with high awareness of their surroundings, in close coordination with each other, and with enhanced safety and speed. ARA VR/AR software integrates with a variety of hardware vision systems and runs on a variety of computing platforms, including Windows, Linux, and Android.
Leveraging the company’s patented AR technology, we also develop products to bring a new level of realism to airsoft and paintball fields. Our technology presents battlefield action through an industry-first AR overlay.
